Emilia Łapko, PhD, is a visual artist, photographer, and researcher working at the intersection of contemporary art and visual culture. She leads an independent design and photography studio, where she develops interdisciplinary projects combining artistic research with experimental image-making and critical reflection.
In 2024, she completed her PhD on photography and its engagement with the digital environment, focusing on how visual language shapes individual identity. Her research explored the dynamic relationship between the body, fashion, and the self.
She holds two master’s degrees: an MFA from the University of the Arts in Poznań and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Szczecin. This dual academic background underpins her integrated approach to visual creation, balancing conceptual inquiry with practical experimentation.
Emilia is a lecturer at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, where she teaches courses in visual communication, postproduction, and image theory. Her pedagogical work merges studio practice with critical discourse, investigating the shifting language of the image in contemporary culture.
Her current research interests include performativity in photography, identity construction, generative imagery, and the politics of visual storytelling
